It is with great sadness we announce the sudden passing of George Koreluk on Nov 13, 2019 at Grace Hospital Winnipeg, MB at the age of 85.
Left to cherish his memory are, his daughter Bonita Penner (Ken) daughter Barbara Vogt ( Merlyn) daughter Shelley Dickson (Trent); grandchildren Jordan (Ataya), Laura, Kyndra, Jesse (Naomi), Amber (Ben), James (Ebun); brother Bill and sister Carol. George was predeceased by his wife Vivian of 60 years and parents Jacob and Anna Koreluk; siblings Pearl, Mary, Thea, Alec, Kay, Peggy, John, Metro, Nick and Peter.
George’s parents Jacob and Anna farmed in Runnymede, SK and raised their family in the Memorial School area. George spent the first 18 years of his life helping on the family farm before moving into Winnipeg to start work. His lasting job was with Manitoba Hydro a career spanning 37 years.
George met Vivian in Winnipeg whom he went on to marry and raise three daughters with. They enjoyed travelling to Hawaii, Florida, and spending time at their cottage in Gimili. George loved spending countless hours in his garden and sharing his time and vegetables with friends and neighbours. George shared his faith and belief in his lord and savior Jesus. He was always willing to pray for the needs of friends and family and believed in the true Gospel of Christ. George was loved by all, and he is remembered best for his kind heart, generous nature and the ability to joke and put a smile on everyone’s face.
Funeral services will be held Wednesday, November 20, 10 am at Green Acres Funeral Home and Cemetery, Highway No. 1 at Navin Road.
Memorial donations can be made to St Aidens Christian school.
