She leaves to mourn her children Gilles (Marion), Suzanne (Ron deceased), Jacques, René (Leanne), 7 grandchildren, and 17 great grandchildren.
Mom left us to join in heaven her beloved husband Germain, her mother Hortense and her father Albert Gobeil, numerous sisters and brothers, son in law Ron Lamontagne, and sister-in-laws and brother-in-laws that have passed away.
Mom was born in St. Pierre-Jolys, MB and moved to Winnipeg in 1954 to find work in the ‘big city’. She lived with friends in Winnipeg where she worked prior to getting married to the love of her life Germain, in her home town of St. Pierre. Mom and dad were married for 59 wonderful years.
Mom worked at the St. Boniface Hospital as a switchboard operator for many years. She then found her career as a pharmacy technician at Leclerc Pharmacy in St. Boniface, and worked there until her retirement.
Some of mom’s favourite pastimes were cooking (and by that we mean her phenomenal culinary skills), entertaining , dancing, gardening, travelling , playing cards, as well as spending time ‘glamping’ at their lot in St. Malo.
Our mom will be dearly missed by her family and many friends. The family would like to thank the staff at La Cathédrale Manor, and Golden Door Geriatric Centre for the excellent care they have given. We would also like to thank the many nurses and care workers for all the love and compassion given to our mother.
A funeral service will be held on June 29th at 10:00 am, at Green Acres Funeral Home.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to the charity of your choice.
