Jeannette Ducharme’s children sadly announce their Mother’s passing the morning of November 11, 2021. Mom was the last surviving matriarch in the Ducharme/Blanchette family.
Born in Bateman, Saskatchewan, Mom survived her parents (Athanase & Wilda), 6-month year old sister, Wilhelmine, brothers and their wives: Octave (Elizabeth); Emile (Marie); Aurele (Marie Paule); Eddie (Rita); Lou (Lucille), and grandchild, Michael.
Mom was infinitely loved by her children: Bob, Lynne, Anita (Cindy), Paulette and grandchildren, Danny (fiancée, Dana) and great-grandchildren, Chase and Mason, the newest member to the family, Bryce (Dana), and many nieces and nephews.
She was a successful and popular hair salon owner – Jeannette’s Beauty Salon in St. Boniface. Her customers loved her to this day. Some of her hairdressers remembered Mom every Christmas, even after 30+ years of not working together.
She stayed close to home and loved golfing, 10-pin bowling, visits to Club Regent with Stephanie, Suzanne and Norma, and dancing at Club LaVerendrye.
In the last few years, Mom resided in Supportive Housing at Despins Residence. She surrounded herself with pictures of her brothers (who were perfect in her eyes) and her sisters-in law, children, grandchildren, and her four best friends, Yvonne Lagacé, Therese Beaudry, Florence Crow, and Denise Doiron. She loved living at Despins; felt so secure and well taken care of in terms of meals, health, and activities of daily life. Our deepfelt thanks go to the staff and tenant companions who took such good care of Mom. We are forever grateful.
Special thanks to Dr. Kevin Coates and his staff for the excellent care they provided to Mom.
Mom will be laid to rest at Green Acres, next to her parents. A private family funeral service will be held at 2:00 pm on Wednesday, November 17, 2021 at Green Acres Funeral Home, Hwy #1 East at Navin Road.
The service may be joined virtually by accessing the website www.greenacresfuneralhome.com, search for Jeannette’s obituary under “RECENT OBITUARIES,” click on her name and then scroll down to the “SERVICES” section under the obituary, then click on the “JOIN LIVESTREAM” link.
If you want to honour Mom, she never cared for flowers, a donation to Despins Charities in her name will be cherished by all of us.
We will miss you Mom, but we are happy you didn’t suffer. Rest in peace.
