It is with great sorrow we announce the passing of our beloved mother, grandma, great-grandma, and auntie on March 3, 2023.
She will be deeply missed by sons, Morris (Doris), Dwayne (Lucille); daughters, Diane (Jack), Wendy (Brent), Shonnon (Buzz) and her twelve grandchildren and twelve great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews. She is predeceased by her son Lorne, husband Origene, mother, father and four sisters.
Joyce was born in March 1934 in Otterburne. She met the love of her life, Origene and they were married in 1954 starting their family shortly after. She worked off and on for Paulins and in telemarketing. She really excelled as a loving foster parent for over 100 children. She enjoyed fishing and family group camping trips at St Malo and Rock Garden. Mom enjoyed her dinners with her nephew, Brian every two weeks, as well as her weekly visits with her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren. No visit was insignificant to her especially with the pandemic. With the help of video-calling she was able to keep that connection with her large family.
The family thanks Misericordia for their compassion and excellent care during her short stay.
A private funeral service will be held at Green Acres Funeral Chapel, Hwy #1 East at Navin Road, Winnipeg, MB.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Heart and Stroke Foundation of Manitoba or a charity of your choice.
