It is with deep sadness and broken hearts, that we announce the passing of our beloved Mother Luciana Luisa Taronno (nee Consiglio) on Dec. 22, 2021 at the age of 73 years.
Luciana will be lovingly remembered by her three sons Tony (Emily), Roberto (Emilia), and Marco. She adored and was very proud of her five grandchildren Nicholas, Stefano, Massimo, Marisa and Valentina.
Luciana is survived by her sisters Rosa (Franco), Teresa, Bruna (Franco) and brothers Francesco (Alicia) and Vincenzo. Also left to cherish her memory are her sister-in-law Filippa, and brothers-in-law Mike (Sabia), Mimi (Joanne) and many nieces and nephews.
Luciana was predeceased by her loving husband Dino and brother Domenico.
Luciana was born in Calabria, Italy on March 23, 1948 and was one of seven children. She immigrated to Winnipeg, Manitoba, Canada with her brother Francesco and sister Teresa in pursuit of a better life.
Luciana was a very hard worker and dedicated employee, who maintained several jobs throughout her working career. Luciana's most recent employment was at Catherine Place, where she took care of the residents for over 20 years. Caregiving was just a genuine part of her nature.
Luciana's joys in life included spending time with her three sons and grandchildren, sharing a home cooked meal with her family and friends, gardening, going for walks in the park with her close friends Debbie and Kim, and seeing others happy.
A funeral mass will be held on Tuesday, January 4th,, 2022 with a viewing at 10:00am, eulogy at 11:00am, followed with a Catholic Mass.
Due to the current pandemic restrictions, only double vaccinated persons will be allowed to enter the parish (QR code and ID will be checked at the door). The service will be limited to include immediate family members, relatives and close friends.
