Marie-Jeanne was born in South Junction, Manitoba and spent most of her life living in Manitoba, later moving out west to Calgary, Kelowna, and later in life returning to Manitoba. She moved quite often, always in search of expanding her horizons. Starting from a young age after winning the Timber Day Queen Beauty Pageant, Marie-Jeanne found that she liked the limelight and being the center of attention, she was always very proud of that trophy. She always liked to travel and experience all that this world had to offer. Marie-Jeanne had a very strong personality and never let anything stand in the way of her personal growth, an example of this was how she pursued acceptance to the hairstylist program at the Northern Alberta Institute of Technology (NAIT) when she was a mature student and at a time when a mature student program didn`t exist. She excelled in that program completing both the hairstylist program and barbering program in the same time it took others to complete the Hairstyling. Her achievement earned her the Queen Elizabeth II award for achievers and community builders. She always wished all the best for her children and instilled that desire for personal growth.
The family would like to give a special thank you to Villa Youville in Ste. Anne for their kindness, friendship and caring in Marie-Jeanne’s final years. And thank you as well to Green Acres Funeral home for their compassion and caring.
There will be a memorial service held at Green Acres Funeral Home on Saturday July 27, 2024 at 10:00 AM.
In Lieu of flowers, a donation to a charity of your choice in Marie-Jeanne`s memory would be welcome.
