Mary Patricia Zelmer

It is with deep sadness we announce that our mother Patricia (nee Truthwaite) Zelmer, passed away peacefully with her family at her side on Friday, November 4, 2022.

She is predeceased by her husband William Zelmer, parents Duncan Truthwaite and Edith (nee Hood), brothers William, Donald, Leslie and Lionel, and sister Margorie Shepell.

Patricia (Pat) married William Zelmer on June 14, 1947, and moved to the farm near Ile des Chenes.

Pat worked very hard as a young woman and into her later life alongside her husband. She was the best cook ever and her hands were always busy whether she was feeding hogs or knitting a pair of socks.

Pat will be loving remembered by her children: Edith (Allan Reimer), Juliana (Gilbert Gagnon) and Fred (Colleen Silk), and by the light in her eyes, her grandchildren: Victoria, Christjan, Charity (George), Chantal, Marjolaine (Cole), Ghislaine (Travis), Matthew, Erik, Rae-Ann (Michael) and Nikolas, and by Pat’s flowers, her great grandchildren: Marcus, Luke, Claire, Adrian, Marshall and Violet.

Additionally Pat will be remembered by numerous nieces and nephews and her special friend Andy.

As Pat was kind and never spoke badly of anyone she was well liked by neighbors and friends, too many to name here.

A celebration of Pat’s life will be held on Wednesday, June 28, 2023, at 2:00 p.m. at Green Acres Funeral Home and Cemetery as per Pat’s instructions.
