Olga Dobslaw

Peacefully, after a courageous battle with cancer, we announce the death of Olga Dobslaw, with family at her side, on Friday June 24, 2022 at the age of 86 at The Convalescent Home of Winnipeg. She was born in Ketrozy, Romania and came to Canada in 1952.

Olga is survived by her son, Fred (Leona) and daughter, Rose (Eric). She will be deeply missed by her grandchildren Diana (Cole), Kristina (Joe), Erica (Kevin), and granddaughter-in-law Jaime; great grandchildren Taylor, Elizabeth, Austin, Samantha, Asher, Lincoln, and Ava; sisters Monika (Arnold), Erika (Martin); brothers Herman (Rita), Helmut, as well as many nieces, nephews, relatives and friends in Canada and Germany. She was predeceased by her husband of 59 years, Alfred; her parents Friedrich and Marie Tiede; grandson Michael Dobslaw; great grandchildren Rylie and Levi; sister Lilly Tiede; brothers Edwin Tiede and Harry Tiede.

We would like to thank the staff at The Convalescent Home of Winnipeg for their care and compassion shown to Olga during her time there and to Pastor Meinhardt for his prayer and communal visits.

On Thursday, June 30, 2022 at 2:00 p.m. a funeral service will be held for Olga at Green Acres Funeral Home, Highway 1 East at Navin Road, inside the perimeter.

In Lieu of flower, donations in Olga’s name may be made to The Convalescent home of Winnipeg, 276 Hugo Street North, Winnipeg, Manitoba R3M 2N6 or to St. Peter’s Lutheran Church, 65 Walnut Street, Winnipeg, Manitoba R3G 1N9.
