Ron is survived by his Children, Gordon (Liette) and Darlene, Grandsons Stéphane (Kshaunna), Colin, and Justin. Great-Grandsons Lian and new baby soon to be, Daughter –in– law Line and her boys. And all of his extended family.
He is predeceased by his Wife Léa, Son Darrell, Parents Archie and Clarise (Rene), Sister Irene, and brothers Don, Walter, and Howard.
Ron grew up in the Richer, Manitoba area (aka Tibeauville/Brokenhead) where he spent his time in the bush cutting trees with his Dad.
In 1950 Ron moved to St. Boniface and worked many years for Imperial Oil’s Roofing Mill in Point Douglas.
He met Léa in 1956, and married one year later.
Together they raised their three children in St. Boniface.
Ron was active in his community. Volunteering as a member of the St. Louis Centre, Bingo, and the Knights of Columbus.
He enjoyed playing cribbage, curling, bingo, and going to the casino.
He loved his family dearly and never shied away from hard work.
The family would like to thank his homecare nurses, the staff of 4A South St. Boniface Hospital, and everyone who took time to visit and call.
Memorial Service will be held on Sunday, September 17th, 2023 at 2:00PM at the St. Louis Centre, 445 Tissot Street, Winnipeg. A private burial will follow at another date.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the St. Boniface Hospital Foundation.
