Sheryl Diane Dueck passed away at St. Boniface Hospital, after a brief illness, on December 20th, 2023.
She was born to Helen and George Dueck on October 24th, 1968, in Calgary Alberta and moved to Winnipeg in 1980.
Sheryl was born with Cerebral Palsy which confined her to a wheel chair and limited her ability to do many things however she still attended school, and enjoyed swimming, horseback riding, and attending summer camp. She enjoyed travelling which included a cruise to Barbados, trips to Saskatoon, Calgary, Banff, Osoyoos (cherry festival) and Vancouver.
Due to her disability she encountered many different organizations that assisted her in her life. She was able to connect with many people with her outgoing personality and sense of humour. Her church family was also very important to her.
Sheryl was predeceased by her parents George and Helen Dueck, her sister Myrna and brother-in-law John Michalchuk.
She is survived by her brother Bill (Shirley) Dueck, sister Anita Dueck, nieces Lindsay Dueck and Jennifer (Trevor) Quessy, great nieces Claire Mantyka and Haley Mantyka and great nephews Ethan Quessy and Jackson Quessy.
The service to celebrate Sheryl’s life will be held on December 29th, at 2:00 p.m. at Green Acres Funeral Home, located at Highway 1 East at Navin Road Winnipeg, Manitoba, with visitation from 1:30 - 2:00 p.m.. Following the service she will be laid to rest at Green Acres with a reception to follow.
