

Shirley Grantham (nee Grossman)
December 28, 1952- April 01, 2025
It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Shirley J. Grantham, on April 01, 2025, at the age of 73.
Shirley was predeceased by her father, John Grossman of Winnipeg (2020) and her mother, Theresa Whitford (Mistelbacher) of British Columbia (2006), as well as loving companion Andy Whysall (2014) and friend Grant Miller (2012).
She is survived by her half brother, Richard Grossman (Anne), niece Danelle, and nephew Matt (Kristin) and great nephew William, her half sister, Carolynn Théorêt (Allan), two nieces Jasmine and Ash-Lee of B.C. and stepbrother Ernie Sheppard (Jody), step niece Stephanie Sheppard (Jeremy Proulx) and three step nephews Jayce, Ryder and Kolton Proulx, as well as numerous family and friends. She will be greatly missed by her longtime friend, Jenny Miller.
Shirley was born at St. Boniface Hospital on December 28, 1952. At the age of 2 years, her parents moved to Lorette, Manitoba. She attended Lorette and St. Adolphe schools, as well as St. Adolphe Convent. Her current residence was in Winnipeg.
Shirley met Barry Grantham in the summer of 1970, and married November 06, 1971.They separated May 31, 1979 and later divorced. They had no children.
In the year 1973, Shirley started a job at Air Canada in the Richardson Building and worked there until July 1990. In her time as an employee, Shirley travelled extensively to Europe, Bahamas, Mexico, USA and Canada. She loved to travel.
Shirley enjoyed 5 pin bowling, curling, cycling, swimming, playing Scrabble, Monopoly, and camping. She loved music, dancing, and going out for dinner with friends especially with Jenny.
She was a student and member of the Winnipeg Art Gallery from 1982-1984 and loved to oil paint and write poems. She attended Holy Trinity Baptist Church.
A memorial celebration of life will be held on Thursday, July 10, 2025 at 10:00 a.m. at Green Acres Funeral Home and Cemetery, followed by a luncheon.
Interment will take place at Prairie Grove Cemetery, for those who would like to attend. Cremation has already taken place.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be sent to a charity of your choice.
