Susan Lysak

It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of Susan Lysak on June 18, 2025. She was a loving Mother, Grandmother, Sister and friend and she will be dearly missed.

Susan was born on November 14, 1934, in Niverville, MB to George and Mary Krahn. She is survived by her son and daughter in law, Jason and Shantel and two grandchildren, Cole and Jessi and well as numerous siblings, nieces and nephews.

She moved to Winnipeg as a teenager and worked her first job at Christie Biscuits before marrying her husband Michael and starting a family. She was a dedicated homemaker and bookkeeper for their family business. She had an eye for detail and maintained and organized the business's financial records ensuring everything was always in order.

Her greatest joy in life was her family. She was a loving and devoted Mother and Grandmother. She cherished family get-togethers and her grandchildren were her pride and joy. She always enjoyed being involved in attending all their special events throughout the years.

She was an exceptional baker and loved to share her treats at family gatherings. The beauty of her yard, flowers and garden reflected the care and love she put into everything she did.

Susan's unwavering faith in God guided her through life's joys and challenges. She lived her life as a testament to her belief in the power of prayer and her love for God was evident in all that she did. She was an active member of Sts. Peter and Paul Parish for many years. Her faith community was an integral part of her life. She rarely missed Sunday mass and was actively involved with the women's league and church choir.

The family would like to express their sincere gratitude to the staff at Donwood Manor for their compassionate care over the last four years. The staff always went above and beyond to care for our Mother and we will be forever grateful.

A private celebration of life will be held at a later date at Green Acres Funeral Home for close family and friends. In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests that donations be made to Donwood Personal Care Home Foundation and/or Sts. Peter & Paul Parish in memory of Susan Lysak.
