Susan Mary Poseluzney

It is with great sadness and disbelief to announce the passing of Susan (Dood) Poseluzney, in the late evening hours of Saturday Feb 18,2023. Surrounded by her daughter Samantha and her husband Tim, Susan went peacefully after a very short but courageous battle with melanoma cancer.

Susan will be deeply missed by her beloved husband Tim of 26 years, her daughter Samantha (James), her 2 grandchildren Constantin/Dean Vlahos (Gabby) and Yanna Vlahos as well as her sister Nancy Ito (Rick-deceased 2022).

Susan was predeceased by her parents James (2020) and Audrey Crooks (2015).

Susan had a very fulfilling career with the Provincial Government spanning more than 30 years. Reaching the position of deputy registrar was the highlight of her career. She was well liked and respected by her employees and maintained great friendships with many of them after retirement. After retirement, Susan and Tim moved to the St. Anne/Richer Area to lead a more relaxed lifestyle. As a young girl, Susan spent a great deal with her Nana Ruff who was living with them at the time. She would dress Susan up for afternoon tea and church so she could show her off to all her friends. Susan loved to spend her time out at the cottage in Sandy Hook with her parents, volunteered with the Highland Dance Association and the Pavilion of Scotland and worked for her mother Audrey at Ranger Insurance. Susan loved nature. She loved to garden, and enjoyed outdoor activities like boating and fishing, as well as sitting around a late evening campfire. She loved to watch nature and always kept them all well fed, from the birdies to the bambies. Her obsession with solar garden lights was almost hilarious as it was always a competition to have the most lights on the block. You could see the house from space, I’m sure. She also loved to do mosaics. Susan loved to travel, whether it be a small trip to Jessica Lake in the Whiteshell, going on a road trip to Warroad, Minnesota or hoping on a plane to somewhere warm. Her favorites included Vegas, Laughlin, NE., Victoria, BC., Cuba and Hawaii where Tim and Susan celebrated their 25th wedding anniversary. She was also a member and president of the Manitoba Coin Club as coin collecting was one of her passions. (Often referred to as “The 50-cent piece lady”) There she made many new friends and acquaintances. She also took on a role as Commissioner of Oaths. Susan truly liked the St. Anne/Richer Community as she was admin for the St. Anne Buy and Sell Group. She took on a small part time roll with the Richer Community Non-Profit as a bookkeeper/office manager, which she truly loved. A Huge thank you to the Richer Community Non-Profit Group for making her feel welcomed and a part of the community. A Special thank you to all the Staff at St. Anne Hospital, especially Kayla and the palliative care team for making her comfortable in her final days. Such a caring and compassionate team. Susan will be sadly missed by her beloved family and her many friends from the past to the present. May she rest in peace. According to her wishes, cremation has already taken place. One of Susan’s final wishes was to have a summer BBQ with family and friends, with live music performed by her grandson. Arrangements to follow at a further date.
