It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of our beloved Father and Grandfather Walter Harold Kozak, at Concordia Hospital, on November 26, 2013 at the age of 83 years. He was predeceased by his wife Doris and siblings Betty, Terry, Sally-Anne, Marie, Joseph and Peter.
He will be greatly missed by his family, Doug and Sharon, Lauren and Alexa, as well as Craig and Caron, Holly and Nicholas.
Dad was born on November 17, 1930. He married Doris Johnson on September 17, 1955. He worked for Drewrys, Carlings and Molson’s Brewery for 35 years, and enjoyed tinkering in his garage as a past time. Dad was a very kind, caring and generous man. He loved spending time with his grandchildren, gardening, boating, fishing, and most of all enjoying the lake. He appreciated the simple things in life. Dad loved a home cooked meal, and was especially known for his amazing dill pickles, hand-made sauerkraut and prize garden tomatoes.
Dad we will miss your sense of humor and your kind and gentle spirit. You are at peace now.
We wish to extend our deep appreciation to family, friends and the caring staff of Kildonan Personal Care Home and Concordia Hospital.
Dad had a special place in his heart for his faithful dog, Coke and his two “Granddogs” Bella and Emma.
In lieu of flowers, donations in Harold’s memory can be made to Winnipeg Humane Society, or a shelter of choice.
The service was held Monday, December 2, 2013, 2 p.m. at Green Acres Funeral Home. Private family graveside will take place.
Dad
In tears we saw you sinking;
We watched you fade away
You suffered much in silence;
You fought so hard to stay
You faced your task with courage;
Your spirit did not bend
But still you kept on fighting;
Until the very end.
