Alberto G. Proa passed away at home on July 16, 2024, in Needles California. Born August 28, 1937, in Kingman Arizona, he was the beloved husband of Esther L. Proa for 66 years. A cherished father to Albert, Rudy (wife Kathleen), Rory (Marylee), and daughter Diane. He had 11 grandchildren and 13 great grandchildren and loved by many nieces and nephews.
Alberto was proceded in death by his parents, Alberto Proa Sr. and Ambrosia Guerrero Proa, his brother Frank Proa, and sister Anna Proa Sanchez. Alberto graduated from Needles High School in 1957 was employed for a short time as baker with Claypools & Company. Then finished his career with BNSF as a Brakemen/Conductor, where he developed a deep love for trains. His commitment to his work was paralleled by his devotion to St. Ann’s Catholic Church in Needles, where he was often singing in the choir as he was a regular attendee.
In his leisure time, Alberto traveled, enjoyed his family, golfing and doing woodwork, pursuits that brought him much joy and relaxation. He was known for his jokes and friendly games on the golf course.
The funeral services will held at St. Ann’s Catholic Church located at 218 D Street, Needles California, Friday August 2, 2024 at 9:30am. Dimond and Sons of Needles, are assisting the family with arrangements. Alberto’s life will be remembered by his family, friends and all who knew him in the community.
