Carma was born in Illinois in 1953. She resided there for part of her childhood before moving to Southern California. In 1977, she found herself in Needles, CA with her first husband, Don. She was a stay-at-home Mom until her children were old enough to go to school. After that, she worked at Cub’s Liquor, Premier Video, Dr. Graff’s and finally ended up at Thrifty, which is now Rite Aid working as a Pharmacy Tech. She was so proud of that accomplishment. She loved working there; loved her work family and her customers. Carma was blessed with not just one great husband, but two. She traveled all the way to Baltimore to bring Bob back to Needles. Carma spent her retirement with Bob, enjoying their weekly trips shopping and spending time at some of their favorite gambling establishments. Carma was a kind and caring person; she was always baking cookies or crafting presents for her friends and family. She loved making people laugh, she loved her family, her friends and she loved her dogs. Carma will truly be missed.
Carma was preceded in death by her first husband, Donald L. Behr, her second husband Robert L. Thorpe, her mother Phyllis Howard, her brother Richard Chinn. She is survived by her brothers David (Edna)Chinn Jr., Steven (Barbara) Chinn, Max (Becky) Dahm, sisters Barbara Austin, Valerie Hill, Debbie Bogart, daughters Murphie Frye, Dawn (Jeremy) McCann, Nancy (John) Guffey, stepsons Robert Thorpe, Dan (Candie) Thorpe, and several grandchildren.
Carma loved having fun. She was known to enjoy playing games; four square being one of them. A celebration of life will be held on December 16th at 3pm, Needles Eagles Lodge. Come prepared to play some four square.
