Alda "Tippi" (Bell) Smith

Tippi Smith, 96, of Corydon, Indiana, passed away peacefully at home on September 3, 2026. She was born on March 8, 1930 in Harrison County, Indiana, to the late Harley Bell and Alma (Richert) Bell. She and her brother Fritz were the second set of twins born into the family.

She was a kind, loving soul, had a wonderful sense of humor, and never met a stranger. Everyone she met loved her. She cherished her family as well as the many friendships she made throughout her life.

Her first job was in New Albany as a waitress at the Whirligig, where she me the love of her life Artie Smith. They shared a once in a lifetime relationship, the kind you dream of.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her siblings Joseph Bell, Alice Stanfield, Lola Williams, Lowell Bell, Mary Miller, Bertha Hiser, Esther Smith, Rosetta Crosby, Frederick (Fritz) Bell, her husband Arthur Smith, and her son Michael Smith.

She is survived by her daughter Teresa Masterson (Bernie), her grandson Eric Smith, and many nieces and nephews whom she adored.

Tippi will be missed dearly by her family, friends, and all who knew her. Her sweet and humorous personality will remain in the hearts of those she leaves behind.

Visitation will be held at Kraft Funeral Service, 2776 Charlestown Rd, New Albany, Indiana 47150, on September 8, 2026, from 10:00 am to 2:00 pm, followed by the Funeral Service at the same location on September 8, 2026, at 2:00 pm.

Final resting place will be at Kraft-Graceland Memorial Park, 2776 Charlestown Road, New Albany.
