Dad, I've been trying to find the words to use to best honor your life for all to read, but I have finally decided to just share my story of this past week and maybe it will give someone a glimmer of hope or faith or relieve some of their grief if, just for a moment.  I believe that our loved ones never really leave us when they pass.  I believe that they are right here with us and can see and hear everything we do but reside in a different dimension called Heaven.  So, with this belief I choose to continue to speak and share things with my father and my comfort place to chat with him is in my car during my commute to work.  Last week, I wanted to make sure that he is doing okay and adjusting to Heaven okay and asked him to send me a song on the radio to let me know that he is indeed alright.  The very next song to come on was Molly Hatchet- Flirtin' with Disaster.  (My dad loved Molly Hatchet and anytime I hear this song, it brings back childhood memories of us listening to it. Just yesterday, we found a Molly Hatchet concert ticket stub in the pile of pictures we were browsing through.)  I believe this song was a solid confirmation from my Dad, that All is Well.  I love you Dad and I hope you are rockin' out in Heaven.  I look forward to more chats with you in the car and luckily for me, thanks to bluetooth and hands-free cell phone calls, the people in the cars next to me won't think I'm the crazy lady talking to herself.

Uncle Al, I adored you from my very first memory.  You were almost more like a big brother than an uncle, and there was never a time you weren't a part of my life growing up.  We had too many milestones to list that you were a part of,  and it breaks my heart that your life has reached its final chapter, way before I was ready fo the story to end.  It gives me comfort to know that you're back home in Indiana now, resting next to the ones who loved you from your very first breath until their very last.  I feel sure your homecoming in heaven was quite the celebration.   I know I'll see you again one day, and when I do I hope you are rocking out on that guitar, because that's the way I will always remember you best.  Love ya, Alvey, say hi to my Dad and the rest of the family for me.

Dear Allen Sifers and to almighty God, please entrust in your Creator. May you rest in the arms of the Lord who formed you from the dust of the earth. May holy Mary, the angels, and all the saints welcome you now that you have gone forth from this life.

Growing up in Pekin, All of us kids played together, we played and done just about everything you could think of, We played a lot of Basketball and Baseball together, I remember playing with Allen on the Salem Bowling Lanes team in Salem, We were playing my brother Gary Roberts team The State Bank of Salem in the playoffs, and we beat them, and I believe it almost broke my brothers heart that younger brother beat him in baseball that year.  The next year we all came to Pekin and Play, Allen and me again were on the same team C&S Market,  Allen was the main Pitcher, I was the back-up, I caught for Allen, and believe me No one could throw harder than him, I wore (3) pads in my catchers glove and he still burnt me up ! ha   No one could hit off of him, and no one could ever strike him out, He had a batting average that year of 952, he was also as good in Basketball as he was baseball, Probably one of the Best in the area at that time period, But later as we all went into High school, he stopped playing sports as did a lot of us, I guess we all got a little tired , but anyway just thought I'd share a little of what I remember about Allen growing up in Pekin , He was alway's a very good Friend, just like Johnny Leonard, Lowell wells and many others ! what a great time to grow up !!
