Ann was born Ann Ford Norvell to Dr. Charles Wyatt Norvell and Elizabeth “Dee” Ford in Oldham County, Kentucky. She was the first baby of many that her father delivered. Ann grew up in New Castle, KY where she attended grade school and graduated from Henry County High School in 1964. She attended Eastern College and received her degree from Spencerian College in Shively, Kentucky. Ann married Roy James Robison December 23, 1985 until Roy passed May 2, 2018. Ann retired as a clerk from Louisville Gas & Electric after many years of dedicated service.
Ann was active in the choir for most of her life. She was a member of the Sweet Adelines for several years but spent her life singing for the Lord. She was in the choir at First Baptist Church New Castle, Graceland Baptist Church in New Albany, IN, and sang at several programs at Southeast Christian Church in Louisville, KY. She was part of the living Christmas tree across several churches throughout her life. Some of her greatest memories were singing with her father at church.
Ann was passionate about her faith and was eager to share it with everyone she came across. Her favorite saying was “Not Today Satan. Or Tomorrow Either”! Ann never met a stranger and was always excited to spend time with loved ones.
Ann had a heart bigger than her stature. She cherished her 77 year friendship with her “Forever Friends” along with the close friendships she developed through the years.
She was a proud sister to one older sister and two younger brothers, aunt to three nieces and one nephew. Above all, Ann loved being a mother to Andy and LeAnn, but even more than that, being “Granny” to 10 grandchildren, 6 great-grandchildren, and countless others. She adored all of her grandchildren and loved spending time with them. She attended every game, concert, and church event they were part of, always eager to cheer them on.
Ann was preceded in death by her father, Dr. Charles Wyatt Norvell, mothers, Dee (Ford) Norvell & Dorothy (Bramblett) Norvell, and husband Roy Robison. She is survived by son, Andy (Laura) Powell and daughter, LeAnn (Eric) Hinderer. Her grandchildren, Brandon (Liz) Hinderer, Erica (Mike) Madison, Mallory (Adam) Cappelli, Sarah (Nate) Greco, Andrea (Mike) Clark, Chase Hinderer, Jamie Hinderer, Abby Powell, Andrew Powell, and Lucy Powell. Her sister, Betsye Horton, and brothers, Lynn Norvell and Glenn Norvell.
