

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of our beloved Barbara Hendrick-Doyle, who departed this life on November 3, 2025 at the age of 80. Born on July 25, 1945, in Fort Sumner, New Mexico, Barbara was a cherished wife, mother, sister, grandmother, aunt and friend, whose warmth, kindness, and generosity touched all who knew her.
Barbara was known for her unwavering love for family and friends, and a passion for travel, dancing, bowling, and baking desserts. She dedicated much of her life to the family weighing scale business, starting first in sales and accounting, then as president. She was awarded the first “Lady of the Year” award in her industry. She was also one of the few women to complete two industry certifications. In addition, she was previously an elementary and middle school teacher in Cleveland, OH.
Barbara was a member of the 1st Presbyterian Church in Gainesville and known for her creative decorations on homemade cakes, cupcakes and cookies. At Jesse’s military reunions, she was on the volunteer staff assisting over 800 service members and families. She was also a member of the Beta Sigma Phi sorority, and a graduate of Miami University in Oxford, OH.
Barbara will be lovingly remembered by her husband, Jesse Doyle; her children, Tiffany Hendrick, and Tom Hendrick (Tammi); her two grandchildren, Alexander and Adelynn Hendrick; her brother, Louis Colegate (Sheila); and her two nephews, Stephen and Zack Colegate. She was preceded in death by her first husband, Thomas “Mic” Hendrick, and her parents, Louis S. Colegate and Agnes Gibson.
Committal Service will be conducted Thursday, November 13, 2025 at 1:00 pm in the Chapel of Memories at Kraft Graceland Memorial Park, 2776 Charlestown Road, New Albany, Indiana 47150.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made in Barbara's memory to the Alzheimer’s Association (Alz.org), reflecting her lifelong commitment to supporting Alzheimer’s and dementia research.
Barbara's presence will be deeply missed, but her spirit will live on in the hearts of all who loved her. May she rest in peace.
