Barbara Maria Melton, age 75, passed on July 5, 2026. She was born on December 21, 1950, in New Albany, Indiana to the late Louis and Dorotha Harned. She was retired from Bellsouth/AT&T with over 35 years of service and Heartland Payment Solutions with over 15 years of service. She was devoted mother, grandmother and great grandmother. Barbara enjoyed gardening, family gathering and scenic rides.
In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband, Roger Lee Melton; and a sister, Marilyn Harned.
Barb is survived by three children, Michael A. Melton (Tonya), Cara L. Melton and Annie K. Melton; grandchildren, Corey L. Parker (Bethany), Kirstie "Angel" Gilmore, Rikki M. Davis (Tim), Shane M. Taylor, Darian S. Melton, Laken J. Nichols, Donnie L. Jackson (Sierra) and Kristoffer D. Jackson; three great grandchildren; a sister, Carolyn A. Harned and numerous extended family members.
Visitation will be held at Kraft Funeral Service, 2776 Charlestown Rd, New Albany, Indiana 47150, on Monday, July 13, 2026, from 12:00 pm to 8:00 pm, and on Tuesday, July 14, 2026, from 10:00 am to 11:00 am. Funeral Service will be held at the funeral home on Tuesday, July 14, 2026, at 11:00 am.
