Betty Maxine Brock

BETTY "MAXINE" BROCK, 81, passed away peacefully, Friday, March 22, 2013 at Green Valley Care Center with her loving husband, George, by her side. She was born March 10, 1932 in New Albany, Indiana to James “Mack” Lambert and Marie Heckler Collins. Maxine was a waitress at the old Tommy Lancaster’s on Market Street for many years. She later retired from the Indiana Army Ammunition Plant in Charlestown. Maxine loved doing many different crafts and loved selling her creations at the local craft shows for many years. She was so proud to have won blue ribbons at several 4-H Fairs. She volunteered at Mt. Tabor Elementary School, Hazelwood Middle School and New Albany High School from 1987-2009. Maxine loved decorating her home for all the holidays inside and out and loved her vegetable garden and her flowers. She was preceded in death by a daughter, Laura Diann Rodriquez; father, James “Mack” Lambert; and mother and step-father, Marie and Clyde Collins. The family would like to thank the staff of Green Valley Care Center for the love they freely shared with Maxine and her family. Her smile will be greatly missed! She leaves behind to cherish her memories and those who will miss her tremendously her husband of 45 years, George W. Brock; daughters, Sharon Shope (Wayne) and Rhonda Collins (Jack); son-in-law, Chet Ballew, Sr.; grandchildren, Chet Ballew, Jr. (Leslie), Natalie Bennett (George), Rachel Bielefeld and Rebecca Hardesty (Donnie); great-granddaughters, Breanna Bielefeld (who she proudly raised) and Alexandria Gatton; sister, Iris (Roy); and several nieces and nephews. She will also be sadly missed by her dog, Angel, and all her grand-dogs. Visitation will be 12:00 pm to 8:00 pm Monday at Kraft Funeral Service, 2776 Charlestown Road, New Albany, IN. Her Funeral Service will be 1:00 pm Tuesday in the Kraft Charlestown Road Chapel with private burial in Kraft-Graceland Memorial Park, New Albany. Online condolences may be made to www.kraftfs.com
