I was saddened to learn of Betty's passing. I knew her from Holy Family Church and sang with her in the choir. I learned several years ago that she collected aluminum cans and started taking ours to her whereupon we developed a friendship.

I admired her tenacity and spirit and marvelled at her biking all over town.

I will miss her ever present smile and readiness to share a story.

Our prayers go to you and your family.

When someone leaves us, passes away we are given such heartache, an enormous amount of pain and gilt that is shadow over us. We begin to ask questions, how will I live, what will I do, and why did they had to go. We become embellished in an egocentric belief. We forget that our memory never passes, our love never dims, and we continue because we know for certain that they walk with us every day that we are apart. But remember we are apart for a while; with time our pain is uplifted because we will be together again in the garden of heaven. The word “Passes away” is quite the term to use, because death died on the cross on Calvary, when the Lord rose, death was no more.

We Love you and will miss you Aunt Betty, your smile will be in our hearts forever.

Love,

Lisa, Jim, Elizabeth, Jimmy Christopher

Betty was a member at the Ken Ellis Building and she brought so much joy to bingo every week. Her favorite number was B13, so every time it was called you never knew what noise she was going to make! It always made me laugh. I’m going to miss Betty and all her funny stories weekly. My thoughts and prayers go out to the family. She will be missed at the senior center.
