Betty A. (Weckman) Padgett, 74 years of age, died Saturday December 29, 2018. She was a Registered Nurse at Kosair Childrens Hospital in Louisville, Kentucky for several years and retired after serving with the Kentucky Commission for Children with Special Healthcare Needs. She was born September 2, 1944, in Louisville, Kentucky to the late Eugene A. and Marie (Steinmetz) Weckman. Betty was a member of Holy Family Catholic Church and served as a volunteer with “In Heavens Eyes” at her church. She was also a member of the St. Anthony Nursing Alumni Association in Louisville, KY. She will be fondly remembered and missed by her family and friends.
Survivors include three children, Laura Schmidt (Tom), Beth Shireman (Scott), and Robb Padgett (Carlotta); 8 grandchildren, Avery and Keaton Walts, Collin and Dane Schmidt, Matthew and Mason Shireman, Logan Hanger and Billie Padgett; 5 siblings, Bill Weckman (Judy), Don Weckman (Ruth), Ron Weckman (Carol), Mary Jean Weckman and Bob Weckman (Carol); also many nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be held Wednesday, January 2nd, from 1:00 pm until 8:00 pm and Thursday after 9:00 am at Kraft Funeral Service, 708 E. Spring Street, New Albany, Indiana. Her Funeral Liturgy will be held at 11:30 am Thursday, January 3, 2019 at Holy Family Catholic Church, 129 W. Daisy Lane, New Albany with burial to follow in Holy Trinity Catholic Cemetery in New Albany.
Expressions of sympathy in her memory may be made to Holy Family Church or “In Heavens Eyes” in care of her church.
