Blanche L. Allen, 94 years of age, passed away on January 6, 2022 in New Albany, IN. She was born December 17, 1927 in Valley City, IN to the late Daniel and Silvia Beanblossom. Blanche worked at the old Lewis Department Store in downtown New Albany and later retired from the Army Ammunition Plant. She was a longtime member of Centenary United Methodist Church and was an avid bowler, competing in tournaments all over the country.
Along with her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, John Allen, her son Harry Allen, and grandchildren, Rebecca Allen and John C. Allen.
Blanche was survived by her daughter, Benita Post; daughter-in-law, Cindy Allen; grandchildren, Mark, Richard, Stephan, and Stephanie; 11 great-grandchildren; and 13 great-great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be 2 p.m. to 6 p.m. Monday, January 10, 2022 at Kraft Funeral Service, 2776 Charlestown Road, New Albany, IN. The funeral service will be 11 a.m. Tuesday, January 11, 2022 at the funeral home chapel with burial to follow in Kraft-Graceland Memorial Park.
