She was born in New Albany, Indiana to the late Walter and Lillian (Cromwell) Willis. Carol was a proud graduate of Miami of Ohio and after graduation she went on to teach English and Drama at Clarksville High School.
While raising a family she spent her time as an antique dealer and an entrepreneur in an assortment of many businesses. Carol was an active member of the Clarksville Rotary Club where she was a past president as well as a past member of the Business and Professional Women of New Albany, and a member of the Elks Club. She finished her career as a local politician in Floyd County, Indiana.
Carol is preceded in death by her parents, Walter Willis and Lillian Willis.
She is survived by her husband, Terry Shope; her daughters, Risa (CT) Woods and Cinnamon (Doug) King; her granddaughter, Sloane Mathews; and many other loving relatives.
Carol has chosen cremation with no service to follow.
