The daughter of the late James R. and Mary E. (Karnes) Jewell, Carolyn was born December 4, 1938 in Floyd County, Indiana. She was a self-employed collections specialist. She was a member of American Legion Post 28 Ladies Auxiliary and Graceland Baptist Church in New Albany. Carolyn was preceded in death by two brothers, Jimmy and Bobby Jewell.
Survivors include her husband of 57 years, Harold R. VonAllmen; son, Anthony R. VonAllmen; daughters, Teresa J. Hibbs (Earl) and Deanna L. VonAllmen; sister, Jeannie Donahue; brother, Paul Jewell; four grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be 11 a.m.-8 p.m. Monday and after 8 a.m. Tuesday at Kraft Funeral Service, 2776 Charlestown Road, New Albany, Indiana. Her funeral service will be 11 a.m. Tuesday in the Kraft Charlestown Road Chapel with private entombment to follow in Kraft-Graceland Memorial Park.
