Catelynn Smith

Catelynn Jewell Smith, age 20, passed away on October 19, 2024. She was born to Timothy Richards and Jennifer Osborn on December 22, 2003, in Bowling Green, Kentucky. Catelynn was a graduate of Jeffersonville High School, class of 2022. She attended Northside Christian Church in New Albany, Indiana. Catelynn was married to the love of her life, Chandler Smith, for two months and one day.

Catelynn was a unique individual with a love for reading, a passion for rescuing stray animals, a fascination with spiders, and a thirst for adventure. Her infectious laughter and perpetual smile were a testament to her love for family and friends. When you were with her, you were always laughing and smiling. She always left something wherever she went. She was always chasing butterflies, so if you see one, remember her. She had a beautiful voice and a love for singing that she shared with those around her.

Catelynn is preceded in death by her grandfather, Matthew Gilland; grandmother, Kathy Kestel; great-grandparents, Jimmy and Judy Lusk; Ken and Helen Gilland; uncle, Michael Hinson.

Catelynn leaves behind her loving husband, Chandler Smith; mother, Jennifer Osborn (Eric); father, Timothy Richards (Shari); siblings, Memphis Osborn, Dacoyte Richards, Zachary Richards, Timmy Scott, Shane Lee, Madison Osborn; grandparents, Randy and Julie Lusk and Tim and Patti Smith; aunt, Tonya Hinson; uncle, Bill Richards (Nancy) and Jacob Lusk (Renee); cousins, Lexi Hinson, Jesse Hinson and Emma Lusk; as well as a whole host of nieces and nephews and cousins.

A visitation for Catelynn will be held on Friday, October 25, 2024, from 2:00 pm to 8:00 pm, at Kraft Funeral Service, 2776 Charlestown Road, New Albany, Indiana.

A funeral service will be held on Saturday, October 26, 2024, at 11:00 am, with visitation prior to the service starting at 9:00 am.

A private family burial will be held in Kraft Graceland Memorial Park.
