Catherine L. "Tinny" Agnew Read Tinius

CATHERINE L. "TINNY" (READ) AGNEW TINIUS, 96, died Friday, October 30, 2015. The daughter of the late George A. and Lillie M. (Hicks) Read, Catherine was born January 31, 1919 in New Albany. Catherine retired from Indiana Bell after 32 years of service and was a member of the Telephone Pioneers of America. She and her husband of 60 years, George “Tooter” Tinius, were long time members of St. Mary’s Catholic Church in New Albany and were great supporters of Rauch, Inc. since its inception. Along with her parents and husband, Catherine was preceded in death by sisters, Mildred Loesch and Lillian Hauswald; and brothers, Robert, Frank, Arthur “Sonny”, and Gerald Read. Survivors include her children, Sandy Braunbeck (Bob), Joe Tinius (Katy), and Jim Tinius (Dana); sister, Barbara Julius; grandchildren, Adam, Chris, Sara, Kelly, Casey, Chapel, Truman, and Thomas; and great grandchildren, Charlotte, Gavin, Lyla, and Mason. Visitation will be 3:00 pm – 8:00 pm Monday and after 9:00 am Tuesday at Kraft Funeral Service, 708 E. Spring Street, New Albany, IN. A Rosary Service will be held at 7:00 pm Monday at the funeral home. Her Funeral Mass will be 11:00 am Tuesday at St. Mary’s Catholic Church, New Albany with burial to follow in St. Mary’s Catholic Cemetery. Contributions in her memory may be made to Rauch, Inc.
