Charles G. Powell

Charles G. Powell, 73 years of age died Friday December 7th, 2012 at Floyd Memorial Hospital in New Albany. Charles was born December 24th, 1938 in Adair Co. KY. to the late George H. and Sallie Cheatham Powell. He was a retired supervisor with the Brown-Williamson Co. in Louisville and also retired from the Pillsbury Company in New Albany, IN. Charles was a member of the Louisville Coin Club and will be greatly missed by his family and all who knew him. Survivors Include: Wife of 52 years: Sandra L. “Sandy” Taber Powell Two Daughters: Karyn L. Owens Leigh A. Caudill and husband Darin Three Grandchildren: Brittany M. and Ryan T. Owens and Morgan R. Mercer. One Great-Grand-daughter: Jessilynn L. Owens Brother: Forrest Lynn Powell and wife Jackie Sister: Chrystine Overcash and husband Charles Also several nieces and nephews. Reception of friends and family will be from 2:00 pm ~ 8:00 pm Monday at Kraft Funeral Service, 708 E. Spring Street, New Albany, Indiana. His funeral service will be 12:00 noon Tuesday December 11th, at the Kraft Spring St. Chapel with burial to follow at Resthaven Memorial Park Cemetery in Louisville, Kentucky.
