Charles "Charley" Thomas Wade

Charles "Charley" Thomas Wade, 83, passed away April 24, 2025. He was a good husband, a great father, awesome woodworker, neighbor and friend to many. He cherished his time spent with family and friends. His gentle spirit and steadfast love will be deeply missed by all. His most important role was that as a father. He was immensely proud of his daughter, Dawn. An enthusiastic reader, Dawn gifted him with various great books.

Charley graduated from New Albany High School in 1960. He was a veteran in the United States Marines and was retired from Fetter Printing Co.

He met his wife Jane in 1968; they reunited in 1973.

Charley was preceded in death by his father, Boyce and mother, Mary; his brothers, William "Billy Bob", Herbert and James "Jim" Wade.

He is survived by his wife of 52 years, Jane Ellen Wade; a daughter, Dawn Wade; a brother, David Wade (Mary); a sister, Ann Wade Ruddick; a sister-in-law, Loretta Wade and many nieces and nephews.

Memorial Visitation will be from 1:00 pm to 6:00 pm on Friday, May 9, 2025, at Kraft Funeral Service, 708 East Spring Street, New Albany, Indiana 47150 with a memorial service beginning at 6:00 pm.
