CHARLES LEROY WHELAN, 95, died Monday, June 8, 2015. The son of the late Joseph Clarence and Evelyn (Medley) Whelan, Leroy was born November 5, 1919 in Meade County, Kentucky. He was former owner/operator of Whelan & Son Alignment in New Albany which has been in business for 53 years and is still operated by his son, Larry.
Survivors include his wife of 75 years, Virginia Pauline “Polly” (Money) Whelan; sons, Warren Whelan and his wife, Wanda, and Larry Whelan and his wife, Sandy; three grandchildren; and two great grandchildren.
It was his wish that services and entombment in Kraft-Graceland Memorial Park be private.
