

Her memories will live within our hearts to help us bear our grief. God called her home to give her rest from pain, a sweet relief.
Cyrila Dawn Douglas was born on April 15, 1942 in Adairville, Kentucky. Cyrila and her family moved to New Albany, Indiana when she was a young girl. Cyrila professed her faith in Christ and was a devoted member of Second Baptist Church where she actively volunteered in the kitchen.
Cyrila enjoyed spending time with her family and friends. Her favorite color was purple. She was affectionately known to most as Mom or Mamma. With an open door, you were always greeted with a smile and a kind word. She cherished her family near and far. She enjoyed cooking Sunday dinners for her family who she adored. Cyrila loved her fish and her aquariums. She loved gardening, hummingbirds, and possessed a special knowledge of flowers and plants. Her legacy will live on in the hearts and minds of many.
On September 3, 2021 at Clark Memorial Hospital her Heavenly Father called her home.
Cyrila is preceded in death by her parents, Fredericks and Luna (Taylor) Douglas; a brother, Robert A. Douglas; sister, Irene Smith; and sister-in-law, Rosetta (Van Cliff) Douglas.
Cyrila is survived by her children, Richard, Joyce, Robert, Lisa Douglas, Tracy Rowan, and Chaka (Gino) Rowen; her brother's Israel (Dillie), sister-n law (Martha), Claybon Sr. (Juanita) Rayburn (Janice), Clyde Smith and James (Carolyn) Douglas. Cyrila also leaves behind a host of grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, nephew's, cousins, friends, and extended family.
We wish to express our appreciation for the many kind deeds and expressions of sympathy shown to us by everyone during our hours of sorrow.
Visitation will be held Saturday, September 11, 2021 from 10:00 AM to 1:00 PM at Kraft Funeral Service, 2776 Charlestown Road, New Albany, Indiana 47150. A Celebration of her of Life will be Saturday, September 11, 2021 at 1:00 PM, at the funeral home with entombment to follow in Kraft Graceland Memorial Park.
In lieu of flowers, contributions in Cyrila's memory may be made to Second Baptist Church, 300 East Main Street, New Albany, Indiana 47150.
