Daniel "Danny" Phillip Burns

Danny Burns, 60, born February 17, 1966, passed away loved by family and friends and in the care of a wonderful hospice team. A lifelong resident of New Albany, Indiana, Danny was known for his friendly spirit and enjoyment of people around him.

Danny liked the simple joys of life. He loved his dogs, (Gizmo and Chloe), boats, going for drives, playing bingo, and spending time visiting with friends and family. Danny never met a stranger—his welcoming nature made many feel like a friend. Although he faced some limitations, Danny lived a full and meaningful life, enjoying everyday events.

The Lord was very important to him. Danny loved Jesus deeply and was always thankful for his church community, where he found fellowship and friendship.

Danny is survived by his son, Cody; his sister, Sandra Friesen and her husband Bob; his brother, Stanley Mark and his wife Denise; and his brother-in-law, Danny Landreth. He also leaves behind many loving nieces and nephews: Patricia, Matthew, Andrew (Kelsey), Rhyan (Sarah), Dustin (Kara), Natasha (Levi), Caitlin (Nick), and Chase (Sidney) and Cody's mother, Tammy Abney.

He was preceded in death by his father, Stanley Burns; his mother, Phyllis (Ayers) Burns; and his sister, Marleen Landreth.

Danny also leaves behind many wonderful friends whom he loved to visit with and who will remember him for his laughter and fun spirit.

He will be deeply missed by many.

A visitation will be held at Kraft Funeral Service, 2776 Charlestown Road, Indiana, on Friday, July 17, 2026, from 12:00 pm to 2:00 pm.
