Obituary of David Alan Newman
David Alan Newman, age 66, of Elizabeth, Indiana passed away on Monday, August 15, 2022. David was born on November 29, 1955, to the late William Newman and Margie (Roller) Newman. He was with the love of his life, Debbie Newman for 39 years. David served his country proudly and retired from the United States Army. David was an electrician for many years and worked for Local Union 369 IBEW as well as volunteering at many local businesses in the community. He worked for Philip Morris for 20 years. He also worked at Greater Clark County Schools before retiring. He was a faithful member and attended Graceland Baptist Church in New Albany, Indiana all his life. When David was not working which was rare, he enjoyed traveling with his wife and family. He especially enjoyed collecting shot glasses from everywhere he had been. In addition to his parents, David was preceded in death by a granddaughter, Chloe Newman; and a brother, Donnie Newman David leaves behind his loving wife, Debbie Newman; six children, Aaron Newman (Christy), Darin Newman, Rachael Blunk (Bill), Justin Newman (Amanda), Daniel Newman (M'Kenna), and Jessica Dugan (Jeff); along with twelve cherished grandchildren. A visitation will be held on Monday, August 22, 2022, from 11:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m. at Kraft Funeral Service, 2776 Charlestown Road, New Albany, Indiana 47150. A funeral service will be held on Tuesday, August 23, 2022, at 11:00 a.m. with visitation from 9:00 a.m. until service, at Graceland Baptist Church, 3600 Kamer Miller Road, New Albany, Indiana 47150. David will be laid to rest in Kraft-Graceland Memorial Park, 2776 Charlestown Road, New Albany, Indiana 47150.
