

David L. Reid, 56, of Floyds Knobs, Indiana, passed away on May 25, 2026. Born on March 25, 1970, in Los Angeles, California, David was the son of the late Eugene Reid and Alejandra (Ramos) Reid. David lived a life defined by service, dedication, and adventure. As a young man, he proudly earned the rank of Eagle Scout, an achievement that reflected the values he carried throughout his life. He later served his country honorably in the United States Army as a Military Police Officer during the Gulf War. Following his military service, David continued his commitment to protecting and serving others. He worked as a Federal Officer and Firearms Instructor with the Department of Veterans Affairs before joining the Department of Homeland Security. For the past 17 years, David proudly served as a K-9 Handler in the DHS Bomb Unit, a role he deeply valued and excelled in. Beyond his career, David’s greatest joys were found with his family and on the open road. He shared a passion for riding Harley-Davidson and Indian motorcycles with his beloved wife, Anna. Together, they traveled across the United States, creating unforgettable memories and embracing countless adventures. One of David’s dreams was to open a motorcycle business following his retirement. David and Anna were devoted members of the Iron Shields Motorcycle Club, Indiana Chapter, where David was honored as a lifetime member. The friendships, camaraderie, and brotherhood he found there were among his most treasured relationships. David was preceded in death by his parents, Eugene and Alejandra Reid. He is survived by his loving wife of 21 years, Anna (Caldwell) Reid; his cherished children, Alexander Reid (Josie), Landon Reid, and Ava Monroe; as well as many extended family members, friends, fellow riders, and brothers and sisters in blue who will miss him deeply.
A memorial visitation will be held from 11:00 am to 1:30 pm on June 26, 2026, at Kraft Funeral Service, 2776 Charlestown Road, New Albany, Indiana. A memorial service will be held at 1:30 pm at Kraft Funeral Service. David will be laid to rest with military honors at New Albany National Cemetery, 1943 Ekin Avenue, New Albany, Indiana, following the service. David’s legacy of service, loyalty, courage, and love will live on in the hearts of all who knew him
