David Wayne Turnage, 64, of New Albany, Indiana, passed away peacefully on July 26, 2026. Born in Fort Worth, Texas, David lived a life defined by hard work, adventure, and an unwavering love for his family.
David retired from UPS after many years of dedicated service as a Maintenance Engineer. He took great pride in his work and was respected for his knowledge, commitment, and strong work ethic.
Outside of work, David embraced life to the fullest. He enjoyed the thrill of skydiving, riding motorcycles, had a lifelong appreciation for automobiles, boating and fishing. While he loved adventure, nothing brought him greater joy than spending time with his family. He especially treasured watching his grandchildren play ball and making lasting memories with those he loved most.
David was preceded in death by his parents, Carl and Hildegard Turnage.
He leaves behind to cherish his memory his loving son, Phillip Turnage (Catie); his beloved grandchildren, Dallas, Easton, Dominic, Genevieve, Alden, and Sadie; his brothers, Daniel R. Turnage (Deina) and Douglas E. Turnage (Christine); along with many extended family members and dear friends whose lives were enriched by knowing him.
David will be remembered for his adventurous spirit, generous heart, and the deep love he had for his family. His legacy of strength, laughter, and devotion will live on in the hearts of all who had the privilege of knowing him.
Visitation will be from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM on Wednesday, July 29, 2026, and from 9:00 AM to 11:00 AM on Thursday, July 30, 2026, at Kraft Funeral Service, 2776 Charlestown Road, New Albany, Indiana 47150. Funeral Service will be at 11:00 AM on Thursday, July 30, 2026, at the funeral home with burial to follow at Kraft Graceland Memorial Park.
