Denise Ann Sweet passed away at Norton Clark Hospital on October 20, 2026, at the age of 65. Denise was born on April 15, 1961, in Louisville, Kentucky to the late Noarl Ralph Patterson and Jettye Mae (Archery) Patterson. Denise was a team leader at Goodwill Inc. in Jeffersonville and a former employee of Unique Thrift Store in Louisville. She loved to camp with her family and to be in mountains of Tennessee. Denise loved her family, was known to be down to earth, and loved playing bunco.
Denise is preceded in death by her parents and her loving husband, Joseph "Joey" Edward Sweet Jr.; her brothers, Dennis Patterson and Joseph Meredith.
Denise is survived by her daughters, Jessica Watts and Leona Sweet; her son, Patrick Sweet; her wonderful grandchildren, Joseph Watts, Emily Lowrey, Allison Watts, and Skylynn Russell; her 2 great-grandchildren; her sister, Janet Shultz; her loving dogs; and extended family and friends.
A visitation will be held at Kraft Funeral Service, 708 East Spring Street, New Albany, Indiana, on Tuesday, November 3, 2026, from 3:00 pm to 8:00 pm and on Wednesday, November 4, 2026, from 10:00 am to 11:00 am.
A funeral service will be held at Kraft Funeral Service on Wednesday, November 4, 2026, at 11:00 am with burial at Greenlawn Cemetery, Greenville, Indiana.
