Diana Lou (Engleman) Daugherty, age 83, of Salem, Indiana passed away on Wednesday, November 22, 2023. Diana was born in New Albany, Indiana on February 14, 1940 to the late Kermit L. Engleman and Virginia M. Dailey Engleman. Diana lived for many years across the street from New Albany High School where she raised her family and was fondly referred to as Mrs. C by the neighborhood children. She spent her later years in Memphis Indiana where she loved working in the yard and visiting family.
Diana retired from Floyd County School System where she worked in the cafeteria for 29 years and made many treasured friendships.
In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband, Donald W. Daugherty; and two sisters, Nancy Tankisley and Sally Engleman.
Diana is survived by two children, Dwayne A. Daugherty (Juanita) of Salem, Indiana and Andrea D. Hargesheimer of Clarksville, Indiana; and her precious granddaughter, Stephanie D. Hargesheimer.
A memorial celebration will be held December 9, 2023 at H&R Bakery, 21 Public Square, Salem, Indiana 47167 from 4:00 pm to 6:00 pm.
