Donald Fred Etherton

Donald F. Etherton, 86, passed away February 15, 2019 at his home. He was born March 19, 1932 in Wolf Creek, Kentucky to the late Fred L. and Ethyl (Stiles) Etherton. He retired from L&N/CSX Railroad after 38 years of service. Don loved animals and owned and trained quarter horses and his beloved border collie, Heidi. He played the steel guitar and he and his wife, Peggy, loved to travel and go camping in their motor homes. Don was also an avid U of K fan. He was preceded in death by his parents; son, Alan K. Etherton; and siblings, Verna Heavrin and Hugh Etherton.
Survivors include his wife of 63 years, Peggy J. Etherton; daughter, Victoria L. Jones; sister, Thelma Jean Elzy; grandchildren, George E. “Buddy” Fluhr III, Holly L. Flores, Shayde W. Etherton, and Cody K. Etherton; great grandchildren, Lucas C. Fluhr, Kol A. Fluhr, Eli B. Fluhr, Myla M. Flores, Madison L. Flores, Raylee Jo Hewat, Allison C. Estes, and Mason S. Estes; and nephew, L. G. Heavrin.
All services are private and he will be entombed privately in Kraft-Graceland Memorial Park, New Albany.
