

Donna Lou Detrick, 88, of New Albany, Indiana passed on Monday, June 22, 2026. She was born in Louisville, Kentucky, on October 04, 1937, to the late Charlie "Bits" W. Beswick and Thelma L. (Busald) Beswick. Donna was a dedicated partitioner at Holy Family Church. Donna was proud to be a Pioneer as part of the first graduating class of Providence High School in 1955. She built a career as an administrative assistant with Custom Mortgage, where she was known for her dedication and reliability.
Donna is preceded in death by her parents; and her husband, H.K. Detrick.
She is survived by her loving children, Diane L. Huff (Kenny), Donita K. Detrick (Mark), Michelle B. Wells, and Michael C. Detrick (Amy); her wonderful grandchildren, Kerrie Jo Robinson(Dave), Christy Robinson, Shelby Wells (Steven), Marley Archibald (Barrett), Chelsea Detrick (Caleb), and Ethan Detrick; her two great grandchildren, Hunter Robinson and Rosemary Archibald; many special cousins, extended family and friends.
As an only child, she cherished her friendships deeply, and her friends became the sisters she never had. She loved spending time with them, whether traveling to new places, camping in the beautiful Hoosier National Forest, or sharing stories and laughter around a campfire—even when they occasionally got lost along the way.
She was especially drawn to the beach, with the waters of the Gulf of Mexico holding a special place in her heart. Her adventurous spirit and love of travel created countless treasured memories with those closest to her.
Family and friends also remember her for her delicious barbecue pork chops, a specialty that brought people together and made gatherings feel like home.
Her warmth, loyalty, sense of adventure, and enduring friendships defined her life. She will be remembered with love and gratitude by all who knew her.
A memorial visitation will be held at Kraft Funeral Service, 708 E. Spring Street, New Albany, Indiana, on Sunday, July 12, 2026, from 11:00 am to 2:00 pm with a memorial service to be held at 2:00 pm.
Donna's ashes will be laid to rest at Kraft-Graceland Memorial Park at a later date.
