
Douglas Wolverton, age 61, passed away on June 2, 2022, from an unexpected heart attack at Clark Memorial Hospital. He was born June 15, 1960, in Louisville, KY, to the late Dr. George and Betty Wolverton. Doug was a Producer at WXVW radio station and had a 50-year association with the radio industry that started with a neighborhood radio station at age 10. Doug earned a B.A. in Telecommunications from Indiana University and a Master of Arts in Broadcast Journalism from Regent University.
Doug loved music and was an accomplished piano player. School activities included track, choir, drama, and band, and he was Captain of the Clarksville football team. He was especially kind, an extremely hard worker, and a man of faith with a terrific sense of humor and an amazing memory.
Survivors include his brothers, Dr. Steve Wolverton (Cheryl), Greg Wolverton, Jeff Wolverton (Roz), Dr. Dan Wolverton; sisters, Anne Waters (Scott), Cynthia Jones (Brian), Pam Edwards (Steve Crabtree); sister-in-law, Cindy Wolverton; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Doug is preceded in death by his parents and his brother, Dr. George Wolverton, Jr.
Visitation will be Thursday from 4 - 8 PM and Friday 10 - 11 AM at Kraft Funeral Service, 2776 Charlestown Road, New Albany, IN. His funeral service will be held Friday at 11 AM at the funeral home chapel with burial in Kraft-Graceland Memorial Park.
The family requests expressions of sympathy be sent to the American Heart Association.
