Elizabeth "Betty" Aldridge

Elizabeth "Betty" Aldridge, age 88, of Charlestown, Indiana passed away on Saturday, March 29, 2025. Elizabeth was born in Liverpool, England, United Kingdom on July 5, 1936 to the late James and Masie Roach Smith. Betty was retired from Big Lots with over 20 years of service. She was proud to be a Scouser from Liverpool. Betty enjoyed playing cards and spending time with her family and grandchildren. She loved to dance, Mint Chocolate Chip Ice Cream, playing cards, Bingo, dice games and loved hosting Bunco games at her home. She loved everyone she met and everyone loved her.

In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband, Robert Aldridge and siblings, Tommy Smith, Martha Ward, Maureen Yates and Kathleen Seabridge.

Betty is survived by four children, Dawn Main (Sidney), Karen Plummer, Craig Aldridge (Lorraina) and Philip Aldridge (Karrie); grandchildren, Chad, Kyle, Krystal, Brandy, Joseph, Cory, Darren, Christopher, Haley and Chase; eight great grandchildren; a sister, Joan Connah (Peter); a brother, James Smith (Rita); and numerous nieces and nephews in England.

Visitation for Betty will be held Thursday, April 3, 2025 from 10:00 AM to 2:00 PM at Kraft Funeral Service, 708 East Spring Street, New Albany, Indiana 47150 with her funeral beginning at 2:00 PM. Burial will follow in at Kraft-Graceland Memorial Park.
