Ellen B. (Nicholson) Keeton, 81 years of age, died Sunday August 26, 2018 with her family by her side. She was born July 29, 1937 in Bessemer, Alabama to the late Ernest H. and Ethel (Moore) Nicholson. Ellen was retired as a Sergeant from the New Albany Police Department after 20 years of service. She was the first female patrol officer and detective on the force and was a lifetime member of F.O.P. Lodge #99. Ellen was preceded in death by her husband Robert E. Keeton, parents, and siblings; Dorothy, James, Gene, John, Dwayne Nicholson and Margie Goodlett.
Survivors include: Two sons; Robert A. “Tony” Keeton (Susan) and Timothy E. Keeton (Karen). Three grandchildren; Rachel Whitson (L. Bryce), Jacob and Lt.Will Keeton. Several Siblings; Doris Heeke, Frank, Dwight, Donnie, and Delmar Nicholson along with several nieces and nephews. Also favorite pet “Jessie”.
Visitation: 2:00 pm until 8:00 pm Wednesday August 29th, and after 10:00 am Thursday at Kraft Funeral Service 2776 Charlestown Rd. Funeral Service 12:00 noon Thursday August 30, 2018.
