Ellis L. Barger, Jr, 74 years of age passed away on November 26, 2021 in New Albany. He was born August 24, 1947 in New Albany. Ellis was a Navy Veteran, serving his country during the Vietnam War and later retired after 20 years of service. He was a lifetime member of the VFW Post #3281, a member of the American Legion and he attended Clear Fork Wesleyan Church. His father, Ellis Barger, Sr. and his granddaughter Courtney preceded him in death.
Survivors include his wife of 54 years, Linda Barger, children, Sherry Barger, Lee Barger (Tammy), and Angelia Barger, mother, Vera Barger, sister, Joyce Luckett, grandchildren, Corey Barger (Allison), Nic Barger, Annabel Barger, and Kelly Barger, great-grandchildren, Roland and Hazelee Barger.
Visitation will be 10:00 am to 2:00 pm Thursday at Kraft Funeral Service, 2776 Charlestown Road, New Albany, Indiana 47150. His funeral service with military honors will be 2:00 pm Thursday at the funeral home chapel with private burial to follow in Kraft-Graceland Memorial Park.
