He was an avid sports fan and proudly cheered for Indiana University. Gene enjoyed visiting with friends at the American Legion in Sellersburg, where he valued camaraderie and conversation. Above all, he treasured time with his family. Daily dinners with his mother became a valued part of his daily routine.
Gene is survived by his children, Kyle Hagedorn (Nikki), Shauna Hagedorn, & Janeen Vest; grandchildren, Brayden Hagedorn, Katy Hagedorn, Ethan Vest, Peyton Vest, & Dillan Vest; Mother, Augusta Hagedorn; Siblings, Joe Hagedorn (Linda), Ron Hagedorn (Sondie), Debra Huber (Gary), Denise Batliner (Thomas), & Cheryl Pearce (Paul); and numerous nieces & nephews.
He is preceded in death by his daughter, Krista Hagedorn; father, Raymond Hagedorn; & brother Roger Hagedorn.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to American Stroke Association.
Visitation will be at Kraft Funeral Service (2776 Charlestown Road, New Albany, IN 47150) on Friday, February 13th from 5pm-8pm & Saturday, February 14th from 10:30am-11:30am. A Funeral Mass will take place at Our Lady of Perpetual Help (752 Scheller Ln, New Albany. IN 47150) on Saturday February 14th at Noon.
