Ferrell Adkins Brown, 89 years of age passed away peacefully on March 23, 2020 surrounded by her family. She was born on January 10, 1931 in Leavenworth, IN to the late Edward and Hazel Adkins. She was preceded in death by her husband Howard “Bud” Brown, her daughter Carolyn Brown, and her son Terry Brown. Our mom was a kind and loving beautiful soul, but had the heart of a lion where her children and grandchildren were concerned. Family meant everything to her and she was always there for us. In this uncertain world we live in , there was always one thing we could count on, our Mom’s unconditional love.

Survivors include her daughter, Marilyn Sonne, son, Charles “Tony” Brown (Nancy), sisters, Betty Dawson (Jack), and Wanda Jones (Rick Cunningham), grandchildren, Erin Goodman (Brian), Ashley Jerdonek (Andrew), Alli Chastain (Jacob), and Kenley Brown.

Although I didn’t get to spend much time with Aunt Ferrell the kids & I were very close. Most of our time was spent together at our grandmother’s “Momo”
I did love it when we would get to go to their house & get to see all the animals.
When I was 10 years my mother got very sick & was in the hospital for several months. My Dad had to work & my 2 oldest siblings were 16 & 18 so they could take care of themselves. I don’t know where my brother Ricky-12 yo stayed but I remember going and staying for awhile with Uncle Bud & Aunt Ferrell and they were so good to me. I’m sure it wasn’t easy to take in another kid when they had 4 already but they never treated me like I was a bother. I’m not sure how long I stayed but I remember it was fun. Marilyn was just a year older than me & we were always close.
I always said she was my prettiest aunt & she was inside & out.❤️

Precious Tootie, You loved well & you were loved. I will always remember how kind you were. You were sweet & soft-spoken. I admired how you had educated yourself so well about food & nutrition. Tootie, you will be missed but, we will all see you again one day. Say hi to Jesus from me.

Tootie was always so nice to Marilyn’s friends and I can say I was blessed to know her for 30 years. She loved her family so much and I have great memories of her helping to raise Erin and Ashley. I know she’s looking down on us with love.

I've always been so proud to have my Adkins' Aunts-- even though they look younger than me.
I especially smile to have one nicknamed Aunt Tootie. She was beautiful and always had a sparkle in her eyes.
Aunt Tootie had a gentle special soul. I'll always remember her.
