Freddie "Fred" Darrell Anderson

Freddie "Fred" Darrell Anderson, aged 90, passed away peacefully on January 4, 2026. Fred was born on January 28, 1935, to the late Jesse L. Anderson and Mildred (Burleson) Anderson. Fred retired as a project supervising engineer at the Indiana Department of Transportation after 50 years of service. Fred also spent 37 years serving his country in the U.S. Army Reserves and Indiana National Guard. He enjoyed collecting music and loved to listen to his collection. Fred was known for having a hard work ethic.

Fred is preceded in death by his parents; his loving wife of 62 years, Annette (Elliott) Anderson; and his daughter, Leah Solomon.

Fred is survived by his children, Jeffrey "Jeff" Anderson (Jennifer) and Laura Abbott (John); his grandchildren, Jennifer Smith, Ashley Solomon, Kenny Anderson, Evan Anderson, Emma Anderson, and Jonathan Abbott; his six loving great grandchildren, son-in-law, Darrell Solomon; and many extended family and friends.

A visitation will be held at Kraft Funeral Service, 2776 Charlestown Road, New Albany, Indiana, on Tuesday, January 13, 2026, from 10:00 am to 2:00 pm.

Fred will be laid to rest at Kraft-Graceland Memorial Park.
