Frederick A. Eaton, Jr., 91 years of age passed away Thursday May 3, 2018 in Sellersburg. Fred was born in Ferndale, Michigan on February 25, 1927 to the late Fred Eaton Sr. and Hazel Stokan. He graduated from Clarkson High School in Michigan and was an Army Veteran serving his country in World War II. He was a retired systems technician from South Central Bell after 32 years of employment, was a member of Our Lady of Perpetual Help Catholic Church in New Albany and volunteered for the Boy Scouts of America. Fred was preceded in death by his wife Irma in 2003.
Survivors include his children, Theresa Carson, Kathleen Hagmann (Albert), and Frederick Eaton III (Joyce), brother, Robert Stokan, grandchildren, Elizabeth Carson, John Carson (Mieke), Jennifer Hamlin (James), Paul Hagmann (Katie), and Michael Eaton (Brandi), great-grandchildren, Charli and Ashley Skaggs, Blake Hamlin, Harrison and Henry Hagmann, and Tyler Carson.
Visitation will be from 4:00 pm to 8:00 pm Tuesday at Kraft Funeral Service, 2776 Charlestown Road, New Albany, Indiana. His Funeral Mass will be 10:00 am Wednesday at Our Lady of Perpetual Help Catholic Church with entombment to follow at Kraft-Graceland Memorial Park in New Albany, Indiana. Memorial donations can be made to the Boy Scouts of America.
