Frederick Lee Branch, Sr., 81, passed away Friday, November 19, 2021 at home surrounded by his family. The son of the late John and Evelyn (Barmore) Branch, Freddie was born March 31, 1940 in Louisville, Kentucky. He was a baker and retired from Butternut Bread and was a member of the Confectioners Union. Freddie was a gifted carpenter and loved the Louisville Cardinals and NASCAR. He liked playing cards, especially on Saturday nights, gambling, and was quite the jokester. Freddie also loved westerns and watched any movie with John Wayne many, many times. He never met a stranger and would talk to anyone; and spending time with his grandkids brought him much happiness. Freddie will be greatly missed by his family and friends. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by numerous siblings.

Survivors include his wife of 56 years, Anna Mae (Fox) Branch; daughter, Brenda Craven (Craig); son, Frederick Lee Branch, Jr; grandchildren, Jordan Craven, Kaitlyn Craven, Thomas Lee Branch, Whitney Branch, and Tyler Branch; sister-in-law, Joyce Branch; and many many nieces, nephews, great nieces and nephews, and great great nieces and nephews, especially his favorite niece, Missy Slone.

It was his wish to be cremated. Memorial Visitation will be 12 pm ~ 2 pm Saturday, November 27, 2021 at Kraft Funeral Service, 708 E. Spring Street, New Albany, Indiana. A Celebration of Life will be 2 pm Saturday in the Kraft Spring Street Chapel. He will be entombed in Kraft-Graceland Memorial Park, New Albany at a later date.
